From Humanitarian to Human: Changing the Way We Welcome Refugees

Research trailer

Led by Kinbrace Community Society and funded by the Vancouver Foundation’s Systems Change Seed Grant, this community-based research project aims to understand how the refugee claim experience might become more human-centred. The project takes a strengths-based approach, asking where refugee claimants experience community, solidarity, and dignity along their path in order to expand those moments within the system. The project employs qualitative interviews and participatory arts-based methods.

I served on the working committee and advisory board for this project.
